Project Title: Williston's Wandering Webster 2000-2001

Project Begin & End Dates: 9/01/00 to 5/30/01

Project Summary:
Teddy bear travels to different host schools as the Technology Ambassador
for our
school, allowing opportunities to incorporate technology into the classroom.
Students are introduced to e-mail and internet searching, allowing them to
learn
about different parts of the country.

Full Project Description:
Included in your package will be a travel journal and postcards. The
journal
has pages for your students to autograph, write about their adventures with
Webster,
a page to fill out with your state facts and symbols, and additional pages
for photos
if your students wish to include some. The journal will also include a list
of
interesting web sites for your students to visit to learn more about
Vermont. Once
Webster has settled in, we would appreciate hearing all about his
adventures.

Objectives:
To participate in this project to agree to:

~ E-mail Mrs. Kay upon his arrival and departure.
~ Include Webster in your day-to-day activities, haveing your students write
about the
adventures in his journal. (Duration of Webster's visit)
~ Send Mrs. Kay a list of 7-10 web sites about your state/area. (Week 1)
~ Mail us 6+ postcards that show what your area looks like so that a "photo
gallery"
web page can be created and posted for all host schools to view. (Week
2)
~ Fill out the State Fact Sheet in Webster's journal. (Week 3)
~ On at least two occasions, write a letter (e-mail) from Webster to
Williston students
informing them of the adventures he is having with you. These letters
will be
posted to web for all to view.(Week 2, 3, and 4)
~ Have your students autograph his journal before sending him on to his next
destination.
~ Host students wot repond to Williston student e-mail (by Week 5)

We will be keeping active web pages on Webster's whereabouts which can be
accessed by visiting our school home page at http://www.williston.k12.vt.us

Upon completion of the project, a copy of Webster's travel journal will be
copied and mailed to each participating school.
